Cameron Brand was born Wed. Aug 6th 2008 at 2:54am weighing in at 9lbs and 22 inches long. All are glad to finally be resting at home. More news to come. God is good. Oh, so good.

today or tomorrow

As our avid readers know Becky was supposed to go in Friday for an induction if Baby Bean had not come on his own. We have now moved that up to tomorrow. So, if he does not come on his own before then we are to report to the hospital at 7:30 am.
I don't think anyone had August 4th or 5th in the pool, so unless Becky has a really long labor that lasts into August 6th, in which case I win, there won't be any fruit baskets. Sorry folks. We won't be updating the blog for a couple days, but will post pics and stats as soon as possible. Please keep us in your prayers.

the big day has finally arrived

We have waited 9 long months for this day and it has finally arrived.
The day that Becky was able to use her belly as a table. I am so proud. Let me tell you, you hear about this, but until it happens to you..there are not words to express my pride. For those of you that were expecting other news since today is the due date we have 3.5 hrs left. It could happen.

Oh, we forgot to mention, if Baby Bean does not come on his own this week we are scheduled for an induction Friday morning at 7:30am. We are hoping he comes on his own, though 08-08-08 would be a cool birthday. Maybe we could name him

frustrated (still)

all right. this is one stubborn little turkey i've got in here. we had a dr's appointment today. I am (get this) 4 1/2 centimeters dilated and 80% effaced. Even the dr was confused. she's like, "you should be in active labor". !!??!! I'm pretty much halfway to giving birth. how come i'm not having any contractions?
I can't really complain a whole lot. Some people are closed up like a clam and have contractions constantly. but sheesh! jason says my environment is too hospitable.
i'm a little worried that he's going to come out really fast. the dr said that because i am so far along already it probably would be a fairly fast labor. apparently my mother is worried too. she thinks i'm gonna end up having this kid on the floor in the middle of Target!

how very santa cruz!

so yesterday we had the ultimate "santa cruz" experience. i had an acupuncture appointment to try and help this baby want to get out. obviously it hasn't worked yet, but it was a fun outing. they stuck a bunch of tiny needles (with little red flags) in my feet, legs, back and ears. it didn't hurt. i got to relax for quite some time. jason stayed in the room the whole time.
they took out the needles, re-put some into my legs and hands, and then i got a lavender scented belly massage, first by the acupuncture lady, and then by jason.
all in all, a pretty cool time. it certainly didn't hurt, and who knows, maybe the contractions will kick in soon.
