out of the mouths of babes II

Cam now has a pretty impressive list of words that seems to be growing each day:

Ma Ma

Da Da

Bye Bye

Nigh Nigh (nap or bed time)

Go Go GO

No No No

Choo Choo (train)

Pluh, Pluh, Pluh (Please)

and all of our favorite

COOL

and about a dozen animal sounds.

it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

This morning we decorated cookies with Mimi and Aunt Heather and then while Cameron was napping I set up our new electric train that Nanny sent for Christmas. Check out Cam's reactions to the frosting and the train in the videos.

We know it's been a while since our last post. Jason had to go out of town, then his show opened at the college, then Thanksgiving. Anyway, enough excuses. We've been very busy. Double Exposure was a big hit. We had a nice Thanksgiving week, everyone was home all week and grandma and grandpa came down for turkey day dinner. It was Cameron's first real eating solid food Thanksgiving, and he tore it up.
Cameron is growing like a weed. He's doing so well with all his books. He knows how to point out just about every animal on the planet. He's also a kissing fool. If you ask for a kiss, not only will he give you one, but then he points at and kisses everyone else in the room until he's kissed everybody. He's very equitable with his kisses.
He's also finally going to sleep by himself and sleeping all night long! YAY!!!!!

dinner with Cameron

Cameron is a fool for vegetables and lima beans. He will eat 3/4 of a mini cans in one sitting.

He has been doing "so big" for quite a while, but lately he is gun shy since Dad sometimes gets his arm pits when he goes up. You can see his hesitation.

Becky tried to teach him peek-a-boo. The first time he did it---all was well. It was the classic hands over the eyes you are all familiar with. Since then, Cam had made a few modifications to the classic peek-a-boo allowing him to see the entire time while covering his ears and posing. Unconventional yes, but I assure you it is at least as cute as any standard peek-a-boo. Judge for yourself.

15 months!

Our little cutie is 15 months old today. He had his checkup, and he's doing perfectly. He's a solid 26 lbs, and they measured him at 32 1/2 inches, which was the same as his 12 month (i think they might have overshot it last time). His latest word is "night night" and he's now sliding by himself at the playground. We'll try to get a video up this weekend.

happy halloween

boo boo

Since the weather cooled a bit we have been spending time at the park. Last weekend Cam ran a bit too fast and did a face plant. He got a busted lip, but was more upset by the fact that we considered leaving the park early. We cleaned all the blood and went back to the park. He is tough like his mama.

Updates

Cam is finally truly sleeping through the night!!! Praise the Lord!

He loves to play outside and visit his Aunt Heather at Target. He eats almost anything, the other night he cried because we were not giving him his vegetables quickly enough.

He is REALLY into clocks lately. Becky put one on the wall in his room and he literally danced for joy. His fav words are "cool" and "bye bye"

He still loves puppies and water of any kind. He is into his books again and looks at the pages and points to things we name in the book.

He loves to be on the go. He enjoys wrestling on the bed with Dad and after a short hiatus--he is into golf again. Look out Tiger.

He loves his morning walks and screams with joy for his baths. He blows kisses when you leave and is a waving fool. He flirts with all the checkout girls at the stores.

He likes to play the harmonica and the recorder and the maracas when Mom is driving.
He has decided to be a puppy for Halloween. Pics for sure next week.

Oh yeah, he runs. FAST. The other day at the park he saw some big kids running so he ran right across their path and got run over. After a few tears he was right back in the action. He gets more fun everyday!

buddy walk

Yesterday we attended the Buddy Walk to support Cooper Kolmetz!

a day at the park

The weather finally cooled enough to let us take Cam to the park in the middle of the day.
He LOVES it.

Cam's back!

Sorry we have not blogged in such a long time. It seems we have gone from colds to teething to allergies for the last few weeks. He is doing better now.
Here are some pics from the last few weeks. Cam loves to eat, hide, open and close doors and cabinets, play outside, go for walks, and has recently been into his picture books. He has not been playing much golf lately, but he has realized he can use his golf clubs as arm extenders to get to things off the counter or turn on and off the lights at the wall switch.

gulf world

cam's enjoying gulf world more now. he likes the fishes and the turtles.

bubble bath

cameron loves his bubble baths. he especially likes to eat his bubbles. they must be yummy.

it was a bad week

last thursday cameron started running a fever. we thought at first it was because he was teething (he has a pretty new bottom tooth, and possibly another one coming as well). but his temp climbed up to 104 and stayed fairly high for about 5 1/2 days. he was a sad, miserable little boy, and his parents weren't all that joyous either. especially since it was their 10 year anniversary. i guess we'll have to celebrate that some other time.
one thing that was kind of funny when he was sick: most kids have a little stuffed animal or blanket that they carry around for security. our kid's snuggle toy? a hammer. that's right. a hammer with a happy face on it. he ate with it, he slept with it, it went everywhere with him. i guess if you need security, a hammer is the way to go. i mean, what's a teddy bear gonna protect you from?
