sweet pickles
Pickles has been upset that she has not got much play on the blog so I am including a pictures of her in her litter box. She will be 4 in Feb. She lives in a cage 23 hours of the day, but most evenings we get her out to run in the living room. The cool thing is during that hour she is litter box trained. She runs free in a section of the living room and when nature calls she jumps into the litter box and pays the water bill. She is rewarded with a chewable vitamin C--which she has to have as part of her diet. We think she is a genius. I have a feeling the potty training will be a bit more challening with human children.
baby update

Another doctor's visit yesterday. Becky and baby are doing really well. She is 11 weeks along tomorrow. The baby is growing right on schedule. Becky is up to 110 lbs. The heartbeat was 176 beats per minute. It sounded like a freight train. Okay, maybe not quite as loud.
Apparently when you first come in for an appointment you are supposed to go in to the bathroom and give a urine sample. Becky can always pee. We joke that she has the world's smallest bladder. Well, for whatever reason Becky could not pee yesterday. The nurses were making fun of her saying things like: "Do you think we should go check on her?" or "If there was a window in there I would insist that she had escaped, but I know this door is the only way out." Even her doctor came out and said "She is still in there!" Eventually she did the deed and all was well. The first picture is the baby. The second one is me. Can you see the family resemblance?
ohio state

Well, some of you have been waiting for me to comment on the spanking that OSU got from LSU on Monday night at the Big BCS game. I talked a lot of smack before the game knowing we were probably gonna loose. I have nothing to say other than the observation that I actually attended the school that I root for unlike some LSU fans living in TN who have not even lived in LA for 20 years! You know who you are.
A bit of trivia: the Buckeyes were National Champions the year before I went to OSU (2002) and the three years I was there they stunk it up. Becky and I went to one game during that time. It was the first time we played Texas. It was an awesome game that we lost in the final minutes. The 2 years since I have graduated we have made it to the Championship game and got our butts handed to us in a to go box. Oh nutz!, the life of a Buckeye.

reunion at crapplebees
fambly fotos

Okay, I realize this is the 4th post today. Don't get used to it folks. I will try and update things once a week once school starts. I have a lot of work I should be doing to get ready for Monday, but for now I am having fun procrastinating and farting around on the computer.
With the news of baby Hedden I have been on a family history/ancestry kick. I love this old photograph. My great grandfather, Daniel Hedden is the tall one with the cigarette. My middle name is Daniel in his honor. My uncle Jimmy is on the left. I love the way that great-grandpa has a death grip on his wrist. My Dad is the one with the whopper on the string. Aunt Trina is the one with the bowl cut and the sweet dress.By all reports this was Dad's first fishing trip. The first of many.
