100th post!

So, this is officially our 100th post on the blog! yay!

We are all doing well. Cameron is starting to coo and gurgle and smile more. He's also starting to grab onto things more. Today he was grabbing onto his pacifier. He was hungry and we were waiting for his bottle to warm up. It gets all warmed up, and Jason tells Cameron (jokingly) that he'll feed him if he takes his paci out. Well, guess what he does 2 seconds later? Yep, the kid can pull out the paci already. Maybe it was just dumb luck, but he seems awfully coordinated for a 7 week old.

going psycho

So, I am teaching a film class this semester. Tomorrow we are supposed to watch Alfred Hitchcock's PSYCHO, but the department copy was missing. No problem, I decided to run to the store and buy a copy. Not as easy as it sounds. I struck out at Target, Best Buy, Wal-mart, Circuit City, FYE, Blockbuster, Movie Gallery, Borders and Sam's Club. It was not like I was looking for some obscure movie. This is a classic. The sad part is I did find Psycho parts 2-4. Sad. Finally, I got the idea to sign up for NetFlix and try to watch it on the computer. It would not work with my MacBook, but hopefully I can play it at school. I'll let you know. So, in all the running around we had Cameron in and out of the car and in a dozen carts. In Wal-Mart his carrier would not sit in straight so I had him in sort of lopsided and was zipping through the store. He was hungry so we tried to get him calm with his pacifier. I looked down and he was smiling behind the pacifier. I pulled it out and had to laugh at myself. Cam thought I was funny flying around the store trying to find this movie. I think he thought I was Psycho.

you know you are back in the south when...

1. You have a pleasant time at the DMV. Becky and I went and got our licenses this week and were able to make an appointment online. We were both in and out of there in like 20 minutes. I even got a customer service survey--at the DMV!!! I was in shock.

2. You are a college professor and some of your students call you Mr. Jason.

3. A guy walks into a pizza place with no shoes. What happened to no shirt, no shoes, no service?

4. You can drink sweet tea at every meal.

I am sure there will be more to come.

Well, we have been in PC for a month now. We are slowly getting into a routine. We unpacked a few more boxes today.

Here are some pics of Cam from the last couple of days.

We went over to the Kolmetz house this afternoon for some yummy grilled burgers and a little play time. Cooper liked grabbing Cameron's feet when they were sitting on the couch.

grandma, grandmas everywhere!

Cameron is blessed to have a bunch of grandmas and even more blessed to have met many of them already.

Great-grandma Fay and Grandma Swinehart (4 generations by the way)

Grams and Nanny (another 4 generations)

Grandma Pat and Grandpa

5 1/2 weeks and all is well

Hard to believe that Cameron will have been with us 6 weeks on Wed. He is doing well. We went to the doc on Friday. He is up to 10lbs 12oz and has grown 2.5 inches since birth. He is starting to hold his head up for short periods of time and has done a lot of smiling at Mom and Dad this week. Aunt Heather did some babysitting On Sat. night so Becky and I could go out to dinner to celebrate 9 years of marriage. We were going to go last weekend, but Cam came down with pink eye. We gave him some medicine and it cleared up right away. We are slowly getting the house in order. It will be some time before we get all the boxes unpacked. I am settling in to the new job nicely. I feel right at home at the college.

Cameron is one month old today!

We are so behind on blogging, but we could not let today go by without some pics of Cameron. It has been the craziest month of our lives, but we would not change a thing. Well maybe the Florida humidity.

strike a pose

Cameron has had a talent for funny and interesting hand gestures ever since his arrival. Here are a few highlights.

This last one is classic. He actually fell asleep during his bath!
