sympathy pains?
The weather has been really warm here the past two days with temperatures in the high 70s and low 80s. This would be fine except none of the houses have AC. Anyway, last night we had one of our birthing classes and one of the couples rushed in late. They took a seat and joined the rest of the class watching a video about epidurals and cesarean sections. Right in the middle of the video the guy who came in late passed out and fell out of his chair onto the floor. I am not sure if it was the heat or the video or what, but he fainted. His pregnant wife was very upset and the rest of us were in shock. In those moments time seems to stand still. Our teacher was on the phone and in about 2 minutes about a dozen hospital employees arrived all at once. Apparently the teacher hit some special code because every available employee in the hospital arrived. Their mass arrival was actually more disturbing than the guy fainting. They took him to the ER to get checked out. We hope and pray he is okay. After a short break we all resumed class. We were all impressed with the response time. I think if you are going to pass out--the hospital is as good a place as any.
