Some of you have heard about the fires that are burning in the Santa Cruz mountains. Because of smoke and poor air quality we evacuated the school yesterday. It was an eventful day. The ash from the fire was blowing around like snow flurries. They have cancelled school for today as well. The winds have died down today, so hopefully the firefighters can make some progress. The fire is currently 20% contained. So, far 3500 acres have burned and about a dozen homes have been destroyed. No injuries to report.
